Parenting and monitoring your student’s use of cell phones
Several parents in my Superintendent’s Advisory Council have asked me to remind parents there are ways to manage your child’s/teenager’s use of cell phones.
For any of these or additional ideas you would need to consult your service provider.
*block specific calls/texts
*limit texting and data usage (set monthly limits)
*restrict texting, browsing and outbound calling by time of day
*set “allowed numbers” list for calls and texts*
*prevent 411 calls
*install and utilize parent control software/apps; be aware of new social media apps
*PLEASE DO NOT text/message your student during class!! Particularly DO NOT text/message sad news; hearing about a parent divorce or sudden death leaves students traumatized.

New Rule for School
A new state law requires all California public and
private students in grades 7-12 to be immunized against pertussis or
“whooping cough” before they start school this fall. Amador County
Unified School District officials expect this to impact at least 2000
students within the district. Amador County Public Health and Sutter
Amador Hospital advise parents to contact their primary care provider
now to “avoid the rush” since the law takes effect on July 1
