February is Children's Oral Health Month

It’s National Children’s Dental Health Month! Want your child to have a happy and healthy smile? Here’s a quick tip: brush twice a day and visit your dentist when recommended! Children should brush for a full two minutes and use only a pea-sized amount of fluoridated toothpaste.
Visit smilecalifornia.org for more tips and to find a dentist right for you.

ACUSD Farm Project - Announcement

We are so excited to officially announce the ACUSD School Farm project! Our Nutrition Services team, in partnership with CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE, and MotherLode Land Trust, has been hard at work developing a half-acre school farm pilot project at C&C Ranch in Jackson.

The purpose of this farm is to grow fruits and vegetables that can be served in all school cafeteria salad bars. We are harvesting produce in the next few weeks to go into the salad bars at Amador High School and Argonaut High School, with the hope to expand to all schools later this year. This farm is also a great opportunity for students to learn more about agriculture, environmental science, and nutrition, with future opportunities for field trips and externships.
