Health Services

The Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education Health Services Department is dedicated to providing a healthy, safe learning environment for all students.

EPI-Pen Recall

We wanted to alert you that the FDA has issued a recall on certain epi-pens due to the malfunction of the device when used. The pens in the schools are not included in the recalled lot numbers. We know that many students carry these pens and may also have them at home or even in your child’s school office.  We encourage you to go to the FDA website to check your child’s own Epi-pens.   The FDA website will provide you with those recalled lot numbers.

Immunization Information

A new state law requires all California public and private students in grades 7-12 to be immunized against pertussis or “whooping cough” before they start school this fall. Amador County Unified School District officials expect this to impact at least 2000 students within the district. Amador County Public Health and Sutter Amador Hospital advise parents to contact their primary care provider now to “avoid the rush” before school starts next year.
