The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Missing just 2 days a month (chronic absenteeism) in kindergarten is linked to lower achievement in fifth-grade reading and math.

Community Connections at Adult Education

You are invited to attend our Community Connections event! This is a great opportunity for all community members to meet with different agencies to check out the many services they offer in Amador County.
This event is not only for Amador Adult Education students – everyone is welcome to attend!

When children eat healthy foods, their bodies absorb less lead.

See the attached information from Amador County Public Health for more information about how healthy meals and snacks can reduce your child's risk of lead poisoning!

Early Childhood Family Listening Session

You are invited to attend upcoming community events hosted by Amador County Behavioral Health and Amador County Public Health to inform community planning efforts. Spanish translation will be available at both events. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Childhood Cancer Awareness - Amador's Heart of Gold 💛

Amador's Heart of Gold is Amador County's Childhood Cancer Support and Resource Foundation. Their mission is to provide financial, emotional, and educational support to families affected by childhood cancer residing in Amador County.

This September, they are partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to raise funds for vital childhood cancer research.

Each week, proceeds will benefit research for a specific cancer currently affecting families in our own community. Shirts are also available for purchase to support the cause! A shirt order form is attached to this message for those interested.

Children's Clothing Swap

Supporting Amador Families Together is organizing their 2nd Annual Fall Children's Clothing Swap, and they need your donations!

School Board Updates

The next regular School Board meeting will take place on Wednesday September 17, 2025, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642. Open Session begins at 6:30 p.m.
